Vendelbo Jamboree has a long tradition of having international participants, and we love to share the Danish way of guiding and scouting with our foreign guests. Usually, an international group or an international participant will be given a Danish buddy group to help them along in building the camp and living at the jamboree.
Guides and scouts in Denmark sleep in tents, cook food on cooking fires and build up their campsites in wooden poles. Actually, they build everything from tables with seating areas to impressive campsite entrances in wooden poles and rope. Want to learn? Join in!
The spoken languages at Vendelbo Jamboree are Danish and English. Although Danish is predominant, most Danes can speak and understand English comfortably. But do not worry, the Danes will gladly help the guides and scouts through gestures and a few words of whichever language they know. Though, if you plan to participate with a large number of non-English speaking guides and scouts, a good idea is to assign a translator to each patrol.
The countryside around Mosbjerg has small hills and lovely fields and forests to enjoy in any weather. We hope you will enjoy it with us.
If you have any questions or concerns about the jamboree, please send us an e-mail using the general jamboree e-mail address.
